"What a HUGE difference in skill and confidence.Your pre-Treasure-Island bike clinic was worth every
penny and more!  It turned the whole race into a more emotional experience for me: deep despair
when I saw a turn clogged with slowpokes, and absolute elation when
I saw a clear turn just waiting for me to rocket through it, like you taught me!"
Terri, San Francisco, CA

Treasure Island Triathlon Bike Course Skills Clinic

Located in the middle of the San Francisco Bay Treasure Island offers two highly technical and very challenging short courses.  For the Olympic course you will ride a four lap 22 turn course equaling no less than 88 corners over 40K, and go down one of the steepest hills of any race in California.  For the Sprint race you will travel the same twisty turning course, but with one less lap and no hills.  Both of these courses demand you be proficient in cornering, pedaling techniques, and bike handling skills.  Since this is a race prep class we will be highlighting very specific skills designed to maximize your experience and talent on this course.  You will be riding the entire course at least once as well as stopping, highlighting, discussing and practicing difficult areas and tactical points of interest.  After three years of leading this course Coach Phil has been able to train hundreds of athletes to increase their efficiency, speed, and control over this demanding course as well as gain the honor of riding this course more than anyone.  Whether this is your first triathlon or one of many this class will improve your knowledge of technical course riding.

Acceptable bikes:  Road bikes, Triathlon bikes, TT bikes, and Mountain/ Hybrid bikes with street specific tires.  No knobby tires will be allowed.

Notes:  This class includes a map with strategies and turn-by-turn notes, as well as general sheets on cornering, hill climbing, and transitioning.

Recommended Other course:  While this course is instructive on basic techniques youre racing experience will be greatly enhanced by taking any of the other clinics offered to further enhance your bike handling skills.  We strongly recommend cornering, bike handling, and transitions as additional classes for Treasure Island.
We have conveniently scheduled above skills course around the TI clinics, check the schedule located here for further details.
