Descending
Clinic - Level 1 |
Comfortable descending is the combination of good balance, intelligent
cornering, line choice, and relaxation.
In this class we will explore basic body positioning, hand
positioning, weight distribution, line choice, braking control, and
relaxation techniques. This
class is practiced on descents of varying steepness and grade.
Participants should be comfortable making at least a basic smooth
corner and have decent balance skills.
Consider one of the recommended first courses before taking this
class if you have any doubts of you abilities.
Recommended First course:
Cornering level 1, Balance and
Control, and Emergency Braking
Acceptable bikes:
Road bikes, Triathlon bikes, TT bikes, and Mountain/ Hybrid
bikes with street specific tires. No
knobby tires will be allowed.

Descending
Clinic - Level 2 |
Building on the skills learned and practiced in Descending level 1, we
will learn to increase the speed, steepness, number of turns and challenge
of descending. This class will
further enhance you braking control, hand and body positioning, cornering
tactics, and line choice. Riders
will be asked to ride up and down a winding 1.5 mile climb several times
and should be realistic about their fitness and abilities.
This is a challenging and potentially dangerous course if you are
not prepared. Hypercat Racing
recommends you be familiar with the courses listed below before attempting
this class.
*This class includes counter steering lesson.
Recommended First courses:
All level 1 classes, Cornering
Level 2, Balance and Control, Emergency Braking, and Pack/ Group riding.
Acceptable bikes:
Road bikes, Triathlon bikes only.
No mountain bikes, no knobby tires, and no hybrid bicycles.
