Why
a Bike
Fit? |
How will I benefit from my
professional bike fitting?
Athletes of all levels have the same basic challenge. Comfort.
If you are not comfortable, chances are you will most likely not
enjoy riding your bike, which will almost certainly ensure that you do not
ride your bike. If you are neither riding nor comfortable then it will
become all but impossible to become efficient as a cyclist.
Speed, power, hill climbing, cornering, etc all rely on the
riders ability to be efficient. A professional fit addresses the elements
of comfort and efficiency by assessing your entire biomechanical position.
From cleat placement and foot alignment to shoulder width and
pelvic rotation each athlete is assessed on their flexibility, experience,
training/ racing goals, anatomical measurements, usage, weekly mileage,
and technique. By
incorporating these and other elements each athlete is then positioned on
their bike to maximize their power/ wattage, control, comfort, balance and
efficiency.
Athletes will also learn valuable
lessons on pedaling mechanics, anatomical relationships to riding
position, proper habits and techniques for quality riding and racing, as
well as any other lessons (as necessary) for proper cycling. As a
coach, fit expert (over 14 years experience), industry expert, magazine
product reviewer, former professional cyclist/ duathlete, and industry
consultant, Coach Phil is uniquely qualified to answer, diagnose, and
address your cycling questions.
