Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Continuing her steady comeback from 2004's serious knee injury, Rachel Sears took a mellow approach to her day in the lava fields, opting to learn about the course, conditions and work on nutrition while gaining invaluable experience for a future top performance in Hawaii. Rachel smiled her way through a very conservative race day and finished 44th pro female in 11:43.
Rachel sends her thanks to the countless people who helped her both get to Kona, and supported her while she was on the island and in the race.
Thanks to: Christ Artibello, Scott and Julie Gix, Abe Gonzales, Armand Vasquez, Andrew Webber, Alexis, Noel, Les and Erin Waddell, Heather and Todd Gollnick, Zennie Abraham, Hugh Walton, Frank Day, Chris Travers and Mark Vandermolen, Blue Competitions Cycles, Tom Fox, Becky and Brian Lavelle, Eileen and Reid Swanson, Van Pounds, Melody and Chris Appleton, Caroline Poulin (ART), Bob Nixon (Mechanic - Inside Out Sports), Ryan Vanderloop and more to come.
