Ray Peveri set a new personal best at the Tupperlake Tinman Half-Ironman over the weekend. Ray's time of 5:39:41 was a 15 minute improvement over his 2002 finish time. Ray's bike was over 5 and half minutes faster, and his improved cycling really showed when it came to the run....Ray improved his half-marathon split by over 10 minutes. Congratulations Ray, what a super performance!
Ray's next event will be Ironman USA in Lake Placid on July 27th.

Pacific Crest Endurance Duathlon and Olympic Duathlon.
Hypercat athletes takes Pacific Crest Duathlons by storm!
Dr. Hal Rosenberg cranked up the performance and scored his
first age group win of the year at Sunday's Pacific Crest Olympic Duathlon in Sunriver, Oregon. Dr. Hal, took 1st place M30-34, in the 29 mile bike/10k run event. With a superb effort on the rolling bike course and one the fastest T2 transition times of the day, Dr. Hal set himself up for the win as he headed into the final 10k run. Way to go Hal!

Coach Rachel also joined Dr. Hal in Sunriver, competing in back to back duathlon events. Rachel won Saturday's Pacific Crest Endurance Duathlon, a 58 mile bike and 13.1 mile run, crossing the line in 1st place, with a time of 4:29:08. She posted the fastest female bike split of the day, outsplitting the athletes who competed in the half-iron tri on the same course as well.

6/24/03 - Race Results are trickling in...
Burying the competition as per usual, we had some superb Hypercat performances over the past weekend. I am still compiling results and getting the stories and will be posting them one by one.
Let's start with Hypercat, Jamie Sandidge.

Jamie took on the field at the Danskin Women's triathlon held in Rancho Seco, California on Sunday.  Jamie is approaching triathlon with a lighter attitude than 2002, when she choose the sport a top priority. Jamie's training has been lighter and more focused this year and it just shows that when you have fun, you perform!
Despite a late season start in training and even wakeboarding the day before, Jamie rocked in Rancho Seco placing 6th place F25-29. This was Jamie's first event of '03 and she will be racing again in a few weeks at the Tri For Real Triathlon. Way to go Girl!

Ray and Chuck conquer IM USA with big personal bests....
Hypercats Raymond Peveri and Chuck Morganson returned to Lake Placid< NY to earn their second Ironman finishes. Ray and Chuck both tackled IM USA to complete their first Ironman in July of 2002. They were ready this year to improve upon their times and take advantage of an additional year of experience and training. Chuck PR's big time! Hypercat friend, Megan Keller didn't take long to get back into form. Megan became a mom in late April, giving birth to her son, Chaz. Megan reveled in being back in the saddle and enjoying triathlon. Meg put forth an impressive performance, placing 2nd F30-34 and posting the fastest bike split for her age group. Not only is Megan f-a-s-t, but she's a sexy momma...check out her race day photo with the Mountain Men!
