Lake Chabot 1/2 Marathon
Trail Challenge

6/2/02
Meeting the Challenge!
It is no secret among the
trail running set of Northern California, the Lake
Chabot 1/2 Marathon Trail Challenge is one of the most difficult
half-marathons in the country. With its relentless hills and steep
grades, Lake Chabot will turn practically any runner's legs to silly
putty.
That being said, just
doing the race on rested legs is tough...but Hypercat Athlete, Chuck
Morganson did more than that.
As part of his preparations for Ironman
Lake Placid, Chuck completed a century ride on Saturday and then
conquered Lake Chabot's course on Sunday. Chuck intelligently paced
himself throughout the event and finished the 13.1 mile race very strong!
Also smiling at the finish was Hypercat Cycling Clinic athlete, Marjorie
Magentti.
Congratulations to both Chuck and Marjorie!
Hypercat coach, Rachel Sears, also ran, finishing 3rd woman overall.
