Hypercat athletes, Kevin Kennedy and Rachel Sears are set to compete in the California Half-Ironman on Sunday, May 18th.

The California Half Ironman is a 1.2 mile swim/56 mile bike/13.1 mile run.  The swim course takes place in the Oceanside harbor and the one loop bike takes competitors into the Camp Pendleton military base and they finish the triathlon with a 2 loop flat run.

Kevin Kennedy, training for Ironman Austria, will be testing his fitness and challenging for a top age group position.  He finished 3rd in the M25-29 in the Wildflower Olympic distance triathlon on Sunday, May 5th.

Rachel Sears will be competing in her first triathlon as a professional on Sunday. She will look to this race as a benchmark and learning experience.  Rachel season finishes thus far include: 8th at Powerman Tennessee, 6th at Powerman Alabama, 7th at the Dannon Grenelefe Duathlon and 6th at the McDowell Desert Classic.
